Who Will Stand Up For Vets?

After high school I was adrift the young lady said. I was headed for an early 🛌 ; the types that you Eternally Rest. Running with my wannabe Rough Riders I was the worst in the crew. Man how ruthless and uncouth no respect for me nor anyone else, I even told My Nana go screw; at that point I already knew! I gotta get out I ain’t no Ghetto Gotti, disposing of neighbors in 🛢.

The worst thing about it; from an early age I knew that at some point I was through with my hood. Hoodies coming; I ain’t scared but the anxiety level is off the roof; Y/O is a rough knit tight lil neighborhood. A bunch of project buildings nestled between South Broadway and Park Hill Avenue. Actually the home of Mary J. Blige ain’t that girl, Nice?

However I know that it is over for me; can’t hang out no more, the popo got they eyes 👀 on me. My Nana and my Moms they in my ears urging prodding me; talk about how smart and purty ain’t she? Really my minds about to go off to some other place; I spoke to some muckamuck out on the strip, he was next to a Mexican selling some of their delicious shit. I never bothered to look ya see cause after I spoke to recruiter and army brass my butt was off to kick some Terrorist ass! I figured I have been beating boys and girls long enough.

But truthfully what drove me away from the hood, was the day Johnny “my” boy friend and his lil punk ass crew, they found Mr. Brown’s little bichon frisse and they tossed her Off the Roof! There was nothing that I could do. My heart was crushed and now I really knew; in life you run around with different people but when you face the sociopaths you know these folks ya think but Nah; there are real criminals out in them Yonkers streets!

I signed up joined the USArmy and now I’m in Japan; previous life A flash in the pan, thank God for sticking with me and the other two, my Moms and My Nana they know it’s a sacrifice but I can’t breathe in them projects no more. There’s better things waiting for you and me once you make the decision to live free; commit yourself for a while and then you can be!

I know that it will not be easy the tours in foreign lands but when you come out my hood remember that Frank Sinatra knew, When ya can make in New York yall makes it anywhere 💯🙏🐕♒️
